Ceilidh in aid of Ukraine at CF61

Glamorgan Voluntary Services (GVS) is very happy to be providing a venue free of charge for a public Ceilidh organised by local Ceilidh Band The Thingumijigs, with all proceeds going to provide humanitarian aid for Ukrainians.

The event will happen on Saturday the 25th of June, 7 to 9.30pm, at GVS’ Llantwit Community Centre - CF61. Tickets Cost £8 for adults, £5 for under 11s, £6 for concessions. Light refreshments will be available, with assistance from Chatty Café, run by More in Common Llantwit Major. Tickets can be purchased from Nickleby's Bookshop in the precinct and Stwff on Church Street, both in Llantwit Major. They can also be purchased at the door on the night, subject to availability.

GVS Operations Manager Paul Warren says;

“We know and love The Thingumijigs as they practice their joyous music at CF61 twice a month, and they know us - so we were the obvious choice of venue for their Ceilidh. As they are giving their time and talents free of charge to organise this event in aid of Ukraine, we were only too happy to match their generosity by offering the venue for free.”

Thingumijigs member and event organizer Steph says:

“We really wanted to do our bit, especially now that we are meeting families who have fled Ukraine, and been given a welcome in our community. We are grateful to GVS for enabling us to maximise the proceeds from this event, and to the Rotary Club in Cowbridge who will ensure that our donation goes directly to where it is needed in Ukraine.
